Conventional meat production
Broilers are usually raised in deep litter. In the intensive meat production, stocking densities range from 20 to 26 animals/m2 and sometimes even up to 39 kg/m2. Live stock > 10.000 animals/barn unit are common, more than 40 % of the broilers are housed in barns with a capacity of > 100.000 animals/barn.
