Mother-Kid-Relationship

Goats are ‘hiders’. After kidding, dams leave their kids ‘lying out’ at a safe place separate from the herd and come back to nurse them. Within a few days, the kids follow their mother. Kids form kid groups within the herd. The mother–kid relationship lasts for life unless both are separated for a long time (weaning).
